Presbyterian Woman

We Northminster Presbyterian Women are liberated in the best sense of the word to find spiritual enrichment, not only in our own lives, but also for the lives of others in the church and beyond. To keep us focused on our purpose, we have the following national purpose in our By-Laws:

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study, to support the mission of the church worldwide, to work for justice and peace and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God's kingdom.

We translate our purpose into three big churchwide events for women each year, each with a mission opportunity connected:
1. A Spring Celebration at which we donate a Birthday offering for mission work
2. An Early Fall Kickoff of our Bible Study at which we donate to the Thank Offering mission work
3. A Christmas Event at which we bring donations to the Presbyterian Nursing Homes
In addition, we have a 9 month series of Bible study in smaller Circle groups. Circle members keep up with each other's joys and concerns as well as doing in-depth study of the Bible.

There are other opportunities for fellowship at our monthly Dutch Treat lunches and Presbyterian-related trips, such as to see Columbia Seminary in the Spring and to attend our regional meetings for Presbyterian Women.

We invite you to join us in these special opportunities to get to know many of the women in our church - important parts of the overall church family.
