Christian Education

Children/Youth Sunday School Classes

  • Nursery: Ages birth to 2
  • Ages 2 and 3
  • Ages 4 and 5
  • Grades 1 and 2
  • Grades 3 and 4
  • Grade 5
  • Youth: Grades 6 through 12

Beginning Fall 2003, children ages 4 and 5 through grade 5 began to experience learning using the rotational model. Begun by a Presbyterian minister in the 1990's, this approach teaches a Bible story in different ways. Currently, our children learn the story in four ways - one way each Sunday. The art approach is taught in Genesis Studio, drama in Sinai Theater, storytelling in Mary's Parlor, and video in Seaside Cinema. Each room greets the children with a Bible times environment. by experiencing the story over four weeks in these different ways, each child is ensured of learning and remembering stories that teach how to live a Christian life.

Adult Sunday School Classes

Builders: Pastor Hammet will lead the class on a study of "Prayer for Dummies."  (Jr. High Room)
Celebrate: God is a God of continuing creation--He created us for a purpose and that creativity continues.  This theme of divine creativity and the value and purpose it affords for us is the stimulation for this study.  (Community Room)

Kerygma: (Greek for 'Proclamation') is a team-taught, discussion-centered class open to all who enjoy a lively exploration of issues vital to our shared faith. The Fall 2004 class will pursue the theme, "Beginnings," a study of the call of God in Genesis, designed to help caring, thoughtful people think fresh about the Bible.  Come to see how this book will help us live our lives in a very different age.  (Room 108)

Times: Gather to discuss the Biblical implications of the current cover story of Time magazine.  (The article can be located online for non-subscribers.)  Please bring a bible translation that you are comfortable using.  (Parlor)
